NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — The Elizabeth River Trail (ERT) Foundation is holding it first ERT Olympics on Saturday to celebrate the summer Olympic games.

ERT hopes to promote community connection, health and wellness, and environmental stewardship while celebrating all abilities through the event.

“We wanted to celebrate the unity of the Olympics in a real field-day style event for all ages and abilities. We’re excited to show off the trail to people who may not have experienced all it has to offer. We’re hoping for some friendly competition and are particularly excited about our communities representing their neighborhoods or countries of origin through the bib decorating,” said Kindra Greene ERT Foundation Executive Director.

Everyone is invited, whether you want to participate or just kick back and watch. Each park has multiple activity stations. Participants will earn a star sticker for every station they complete. Each park has a unique ERT Olympics Commemorative Button that can be earned by completing activities.
