Top in-state target closing in on commitment

A top in-state target for the Nebraska Cornhuskers is getting closer to making a college decision. Christian Jones is a 4-star linebacker from Omaha, Nebraska.

Jones is currently ranked as the No. 1 recruit in Nebraska for 2025 . He is deciding between Oklahoma , Miami, and the Huskers.

The prospect recently told* (subscription required) Evan Bland of the Omaha World-Herald that he plans to make an official commitment’ a game or two into the season.’

Last season, he had 69 tackles, 14.0 for loss, and scored two defensive touchdowns. On offense, he recorded 20 receptions for 548 yards and nine touchdowns.

Jones last visited the Lincoln campus on June 14. He also was recently selected as a 2025 Polynesian Bowl All-Star.

Quarterback Dylan Raiola, newly converted wide receiver Carter Nelson, and offensive lineman Preston Taumua participated in the 2024 edition of the game .

The Polynesian Bowl will be held on Friday, January 17, at Kunuiakea Stadium in Honolulu, Hawaii. Kick-off will be at 6:00 p.m. CT.
