WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (WAVY) — The William & Mary football team returned to the field of play at the start of August as they look to reverse the tide of a season they’d like to forget.

The Tribe finished the 2023 campaign 6-5, which was a stark contrast to their 11-2 season back in 2022, where they made it all the way to the FCS playoffs.

One of the key differences for this year’s team will be the experience they get through a handful of fifth and sixth-year players, highlighted by returning running back Bronson Yoder.

Yoder, a sixth-year All-American, had a season-ending shoulder injury just four games into the campaign. During his five seasons with the Tribe, Yoder has 2,660 rushing yards and 25 touchdowns.

The Tribe will open their 2024 season against a non-CAA opponent, as they take on VMI Aug. 29 at Zable Stadium. Kickoff is at 7 p.m.
