    Brazilian plane crash horror sees 68-seater jet crash as huge fireball erupts near Sao Paulo

    A passenger plane has crashed near Sao Paulo in Brazil, with footage broadcast on national television showing a large area ablaze and smoke billowing from what appears to be the wreckage of the aircraft. Additional video aired on GloboNews depicts the plane spiraling downwards in a vertical descent.

    The local fire brigade confirmed that the plane came down near Vinhedo, but it remains unclear how many people were onboard at the time. The Mirror is currently seeking further information, but it is understood that the aircraft belongs to Voepass Linhas Aereas.

    Local media reports suggest that 58 passengers and four crew members were aboard the plane . According to news outlet G1, the incident occurred around 2 pm local time. Voepass Linhas Aereas is a Sao Paulo-based airline that operates out of Guarulhos International Airport in the northeast of the city.

    Additional footage circulating on social media, which The Mirror has deemed too distressing to publish, shows the plane exploding into a fireball upon impact, reports the Mirror .
