Fruitport music event set to welcome ‘mystery’ guest

FRUITPORT, Mich. (WOOD) — Something mysterious is coming to Fruitport Thursday night at Pomona Park.

For the past eight years, Dancing Into Sunset has been held in Fruitport every summer to provide people a place to enjoy live music and dance the night away for free. The event continues Thursday with an added twist.

Typically, the musical act is announced ahead of time so interested guests know which events they want to attend. But this time, the band will be a mystery until they hit the stage Thursday night.

Organizers have started to drop hints on social media to give attendees a clue as to who the musical guest might be. Some of the bands who have performed at past Dancing Into Sunset events include The Silverado Band, The Carl Webb Band and The 6-Pak.

Thursday’s Mystery Night goes from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Pomona Park. On top of the music and dancing, those in attendance will have the chance to purchase dinner from local vendors.
