Train collides with semi-trailer in Plainfield

PLAINFIELD, Ill. — A crash involving a train and a semi-trailer in the southwest suburbs caused some headaches for drivers on Monday evening.

In a post shared on X just after 5:45 p.m., Plainfield police said a train collided with a semi-trailer near the intersection of Route 126 and Michigan Street.

The halted train blocked some roads in the area, but all roads reopened by 8:30 p.m.

Currently, it is unclear what led to the crash and it is unclear if anyone was injured.
