Pax Jolie-Pitt was "feared dead" after he crashed his electric bike into the back of a car in Los Angeles and was rushed to hospital. The 20-year-old now faces a "long road to recovery," according to a source .

The source also told PEOPLE that Pax and his A-List mother, who stayed by his side throughout his hospitalization, "are profoundly thankful for the swift, life-saving response of the first responders and the excellent medical care he received."
Jolie, 49, remains with her son, and his siblings have been frequently visiting and providing support, the source added. "They are all very close." Pax made headlines earlier this week when he was sent to the hospital after he sustained a head injury in the life-threatening crash. Around 5pm, Pax smashed into the back of a car, according to law enforcement sources.
Paramedics who arrived at the scene rushed Pax to the hospital after they became concerned he may have been suffering from bleeding to the brain after he complained of head pain. Pax wasn’t wearing a helmet in the collision that happened as he was driving down Los Feliz Boulevard. He was believed to have been coming up to an intersection before he hit the back of a car, which was stopped at a red light.
Law enforcement sources also told TMZ Pax was driving his electric bike during rush hour traffic. The car's driver was reported to have checked on Pax before paramedics and police officers got to the scene. Witnesses at the scene told the publication Pax complained of pain in his hip, in addition to his head. Before the accident occurred, Pax was previously seen riding around Los Angeles on a Talaria Sting R MX4 electric bike, however, it's unclear if it was the same bike that he wrecked.
A source close to the situation revealed to Page Six that his friends were "concerned" about him because of how he tends be "reckless" while riding his bike. "His friends are concerned about him,” the insider told the news outlet. “He’s being reckless. They’re worried.” Pax is “consistent” when it comes to “never wearing a helmet on the vehicle” although he’s had a history of dangerous accidents.
Pax happens to be the second oldest of his divorced famous parents’ children. In addition to Pax, the Mr. & Mrs. Smith co-stars are also the parents of Maddox, 22, Zahara, 19, Shiloh, 18, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 16.
