A person died after a single-car crash in Eastvale on Wednesday, and authorities say drug use may be a factor.

According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office , deputies assigned to the Jurupa Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to the 5300 block of Goodman Way at about 9:52 p.m. Wednesday on reports of a vehicle crashing into a building.

Upon arrival, deputies found the driver, the vehicle’s sole occupant, suffering from major injuries at the scene.

Despite life-saving efforts from first responders, the driver was pronounced dead at the scene. They were not yet identified by authorities as of Thursday morning, pending notification of next of kin.

Investigations later revealed that drugs were likely a factor in the collision, authorities said.

Goodman Way was closed temporarily in the wake of the collision. No additional details were immediately made available.
