Since the lazy, stupid and mean spirited Weehawken police department weaponized the Port Imperial security patrol crime runs rampant down there. The guards are useful idiots the police department have do their dirty work by electronically and physically surveilling township residents accessing the waterfront to simply recreate or shop. Since this activity is unofficial the police are unaccountable for their abuses. Since the patrol are uncompensated for their “work” they have the opportunity to go full Paul Blart on police identified targets. Although stupid and pointless it remains cruel and sends a powerful message of Weehawken police priorities. Deterring crime is not one of them. They’re too busy engaging in and taking pleasure in this mindless activity.
