    Dog dies, family displaced due to Montgomery County fire

    MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. ( DC News Now ) — Crews with the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service (MCFRS) were at the scene of a house fire that displaced a family on Wednesday evening.

    The fire happened at around 4:30 p.m. in the 10900 block of Roundtable Court off of Tuckerman Lane. Crews arrived to find a fire on two floors of the home there.

    Pete Piringer, a spokesman for MCFRS, said the fire started on the first floor and extended to the attic. A family of six – which included two kids – was displaced.

    A dog was rescued but did not survive, Piringer added.
