Shame Shame Shame. Ya it's dangerous hiking alone. I hike Taughanook Falls on Cayuga lake occasionally and one day toward the top we smelled a putrid stench we thought was roadkill. A month later I read they found a corpse up there. It must've been him we smelled. RIP

79 years old, on a solo hiking trip? That is irresponsible. Heck, solo hikes are dangerous for a young, athletic individual... please people, if you are alone, find an organized group to hike with.
