FRESNO, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – Multiple vehicles were involved in a crash in the Mariposa County community of Catheys Valley on Monday, according to the California Highway Patrol.

CHP says they responded to Highway 140 and Hornitos Road in Catheys Valley.

Investigators say a 2019 Subaru Outback was southbound on Hornitos Road and stopped at the intersection at Highway 140. At the same time, a 2005 Toyota Sienna was going eastbound on Highway 140, west of Hornitos Road.

Meanwhile, a 2023 Peterbilt was stopped at the intersection of Catheys Valley Drive and Highway 140.

As the Toyota Sienna approached the intersection of Highway 140 at Hornitos Road, investigators say the Subaru Outback drove into the path of the Sienna. As a result, the Toyota Sienna crashed into the Subaru Outback. This impact CHP says caused the Sienna to veer right and crash into the Peterbilt.

As a result of the collision, people in the Sienna and the Subaru were transported by air to Community Regional Medical Center Fresno for major injuries.

CHP says It does not appear alcohol and/or drugs were a factor in this collision.
