How do you like your eggs? New breakfast-food chain is coming to Columbia County

A new breakfast restaurant coming to Columbia County is preparing to begin construction.

Bids closed June 4 for subcontractors to apply to work on the buildout for Eggs Up, a South Carolina-based chain of casual-dining restaurants designed as breezy community gathering places.

The restaurant is coming to the Shoppes at Evans Town Park, 1200 Town Park Ln., Suite 103, off North Belair Road in Evans. It will occupy 2,380 square feet as the end tenant in a three-unit commercial strip already occupied by a drive-thru First Commercial Bank and the Code Ninjas youth learning center.

About 170 Eggs Ups have been built or planned or are already in production. Many are clustered in and around Greenville and Columbia.

Chris Skodras and Skip Corn founded Eggs Up in 1997 in Pawleys Island, South Carolina. After offering franchises, WJ Partners acquired the chain in 2018. Entrepreneur magazine has ranked Eggs Up as the No. 1 breakfast franchise three years in a row.
