BAY COUNTY, Fla. ( WMBB ) – The Central Panhandle Association of Realtors Leadership Academy team is helping make a difference for local students.

Throughout May, they completed the ‘Stuff the Box’ campaign. Donation boxes were put at over a dozen different locations.

People donated essential items like snacks, laundry detergent, and deodorant. CPAR ended up collecting over 1,000 items.

Big surprise for Big of the Year

Next week they’ll be delivered to schools in the Bay, Calhoun, Gulf, Jackson, Holmes, and Washington counties.

“It’s those little things that many people take for granted but for some of the kids out there that don’t have those things, it’s just to know that somebody cares, that somebody is looking out for them. They may not be able to put a face with that stick of deodorant they got, but the fact that they’ll know that somebody cares,” Beachy Beach Realtor and member of CPAR Leadership Academy Garrett Aune said.

It was also a friendly competition between businesses and organizations participating. Elite Reality came in first, collecting almost 200 items. They will receive a brick in front of the CPAR building and a free promotion on the billboard along Highway 98.
