    Ontario County school board elections and budget results. What you need to know

    CANANDAIGUA, NY — Voters in each of the school districts in Ontario County approved budgets for the 2024-25 school year, including Canandaigua, Victor and Geneva.

    Voters also approved funding for public libraries in districts where such measures were put before district residents.

    Here are the numbers after the votes on Tuesday.

    Bloomfield

    Bloomfield voters approved a $26,264,142 spending plan for the 2024-25 school year by 155-49.

    Voters also approved a bus purchase measure and a Bloomfield Library proposition.

    Jim Spelman and Heather Rickett were elected to the school board.

    Canandaigua

    Canandaigua City School District voters passed a $91.1 million budget for the 2024-25 school year, approved a transportation purchase proposition and re-elected Beth Thomas and Milton Johnson to five-year terms on the Board of Education.

    The budget was passed Tuesday with 76% of the voters approving the budget, 1,654-533.

    Additionally, voters approved the Wood Library proposition, 1,590 votes to 608.

    For school board, Beth Thomas received 1,459 votes and Milton Johnson got 1,122 votes. Paul Harvey received 596 votes, Kent Gilges got 543 and Amber Valvano had 542.

    Geneva

    In Geneva, voters approved a $73,675,289 budget by 538-250 and gave the OK to transportation-related propositions.

    Voters also approved funding for the Geneva Public Library.

    Valerie Mallard and Brian Whitley were elected to five-year terms on the Board of Education.

    Honeoye

    Honeoye voters approved a 2024-25 budget of $19,372,082 in a 458-188 vote.

    Voters also approved funding for the Honeoye Public Library.

    Jim Helling, Jerry Passer and Tori Penrod-Clark were elected to three-year terms to the Board of Education.

    Manchester-Shortsville

    Manchester-Shortsville Central School District voters approved a $22,980,031 budget for the 2024-25 school year by 271-80 votes.

    Two additional propositions were approved.

    Jennifer Speers was elected to the Manchester-Shortsville Board of Education for a five-year term.

    Marcus Whitman

    Marcus Whitman voters approved a $39,340,807 spending plan in a 559-148 vote and approved a bus purchase referendum and measure to create a capital reserve fund.

    Voters also approved funding for the Gorham Free Library and Rushville and Middlesex Reading Centers.

    For school board, Sheila Brown, Tessah Reifsteck-Ciardi, Cindy Hall and Jessica Wickham were the top vote-getters for three seats with a three-year term and one seat for a one-year term.

    Naples

    Voters in the Naples school district voted in favor of a $23,414,489 budget for the next school year by a 198-59 vote and two transportation-related propositions.

    Joseph Callaghan, Gail Musnicki and Maura Sullivan were elected to three open seats on the Board of Education. Voters also gave the OK to a measure that will reduce the number of seats on the board from nine to seven.

    Voters approved funding for the Naples Public Library.

    Phelps-Clifton Springs

    Voters in the Phelps-Clifton Springs Central School District (Midlakes schools) approved the 2024-25 school budget along with several other propositions on this year’s ballot.

    The $46,142,958 budget proposal was approved by a vote of 371-125, or 74.8%.

    Matt Goodman, with 357 votes, Tracy Altman, 348 votes, and Lynn Lebrecht, 311, were elected to the Board of Education.

    Voters also approved a separate measure to approve $188,000 annually to support the Clifton Springs Library and the Phelps Community Memorial Library.

    Victor

    Victor voters approved a $103,224,919 budget for the next school year by 949-273 votes and gave the OK to bus purchase and capital reserve propositions.

    Adam Snyder and Carol Prescott were elected to three-year terms on the school board.
