While some folks can easily nod off each night, others find it tough to turn off their buzzing minds and catch those Zs. But Dr. Scott Walter, a board-certified dermatologist from Denver, has a 'game-changing' tip for those tossing and turning in search of slumber.

On TikTok , he shared his instant sleep-inducing trick that's got everyone talking. He revealed: "I'm a doctor and sometimes I struggle to fall asleep. I'm going to tell you about the method that was like a light-switch moment for me once I learned it."

He continued, clarifying that this isn't about popping melatonin or other sleep aids, nor is it about pre-sleep showers or bedtime stories. Instead, he introduced cognitive shuffling, saying: "It's a simple mental exercise we call cognitive shuffling. It's a way to rearrange or reorganize your thoughts similar to shuffling a deck of cards - basically, distracting your mind from conscious thought patterns that may keep you awake."
