Liverpool will bid farewell to one of its finest ever managers against Wolves as Jürgen Klopp steps down after nine years. But there will already be a nod to the next Liverpool chapter on show at Anfield .

The Reds will finish the season in third spot but will be eager to put on a show for their departing manager. Klopp has delivered remarkable success during his stint but is now passing on the baton, with Arne Slot primed to take over.

Slot's appointment could be announced as early as next week after he confirmed he was leaving Feyenoord and is heading for Anfield.

But despite this being the last game of the Klopp era, Liverpool will don the kit that Slot's team is set to line up in next season. The Reds have already unveiled the retro 2024/25 strip, which was inspired by the club's 1984 European Cup success.

Liverpool has confirmed the new strip will be debuted against Wolves, alongside new warm-up kits and anthem jackets, which are worn as players make their way down the tunnel.

There had been some confusion over the wearing of new kits during current campaigns. Arsenal has opted not to wear its latest release against Everton, with many incorrectly suggesting that it was prevented from doing so, because it could win the title.

Premier League rules actually state it is allowed, as long as clubs give at least 14 days notice if it intends to wear its new kit for the final match of the season. It then effectively becomes an 'alternative' strip to the usual home and away offerings.

Liverpool's 2024/25 strip is set to be the last of its current deal with Nike, which runs out at the end of next season. SportBusiness claims Adidas will take over, having worked with the Reds previously between 2006 and 2012.

Liverpool.com says: The new kit looks pretty impressive and Liverpool fans will get to see it in action against Wolves. It won't distract from who the afternoon is really about though and the match will be about looking back on Klopp's tenure, before thinking about next season.
