    The Shelby County Chamber of Commerce Teacher Appreciation reception hosted by the Shelby County Chamber of Commerce was held Wednesday, May 8 at the Windham Civic Center in Center at 4:30 p.m.

    The reception is held annually to salute and recognize the dedicated administrators and teaching staff of all the Shelby County school districts. The Chamber of Commerce Education committee presented each school campus Teacher of the Year with a Certificate of Recognition and announced the Shelby County Teacher of the Year for elementary and secondary schools. This is a time when gratitude and appreciation is expressed to the educators throughout the county.

    The Elementary Teacher of the Year is Kathy Davis, a teacher at F.L. Primary School in Center. The Secondary Teacher of the Year is Mihaela Munday, a teacher at Timpson High School.

    2024 Campus Teachers of the Year included Terri Snider at Excelsior ISD, Kathy Davis at F. L. Moffett Primary, Holly Burns at Center Elementary School, Paula Fleming-Windham at Center Middle School, Angela Shahan at Center High School, Reggie Daniels at Center Roughrid- er Academy, Shannon Bohannon at S. W. Carter Elementary, Anita Sheppard at Shelbyville Middle School, Crystal Harrison at Shelbyville High School, Monica Garcia at Tenaha Elementary School, Mia Cloudy at Tenaha Secondary School, Katie Hroncich at Timpson Elementary, Kristin Jousan at Timpson Middle School, and Mihaela Munday at Timpson High School.
