Trinity High School’s quest for its second state baseball championship will begin this weekend as postseason play opens across Kentucky.
The Shamrocks (31-4) are ranked No. 1 in the state by Prep Baseball Report Kentucky and currently have a 16-game winning streak.
Trinity will host the 27 th District Tournament and face the Seneca-Waggener winner at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in a semifinal. The district final is set for 6 p.m. Thursday.
The Shamrocks won their first state baseball title in 2021.
Trinity is one of several title contenders from the Louisville area, joining No. 4-ranked Ballard, No. 5 Pleasure Ridge Park, No. 12 St. Xavier, No. 13 Eastern, No. 19 Manual and No. 25 Bullitt East.
Ballard and Eastern could meet in the 28 th District final set for 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Christian Academy.
