The 2023 Boyle County Fair was the debut of the new fairground location at Smoky Way off the Danville Bypass. The location was a success, allowing the fair to see larger numbers of attendance and livestock entries. With the growth of the fair, the Kentucky Department of Agriculture named the Boyle Fair a runner-up for the Most Progressive Fair award.

“Everything worked out really great,” said Boyle Fair Board President Ryan Owens. “Getting people in and out went smoothly. The police directing traffic was very helpful.”

Owens was named the 2023 Fair Person of the Year by the Kentucky Association of Fairs and Horse Shows for the growth of the fair and the successful launch of its new location.

“We really want to showcase the awards,” Owens said. “Getting the fair together and pulled off was a city, county, and community effort to make that happen.”

The 2024 Boyle County Fair will see the return of helicopter rides, a larger petting zoo, and the first annual pre-fair tractor ride and lunch.

“We are going to do a 20-mile tractor ride,” Owens said. “We are hopefully going to come up Main Street and end up back at the fairgrounds. We will have a lunch after. We are trying to get Kentucky Commissioner of Agriculture Jonathan Shell to ride with us. Hopefully, we can start to do it every year. People can bring their tractor from off the farm and ride through town.”

The 2024 Boyle County Fair will be held June 8 through June 16. For more information, visit boylefair.com.
