Stormy Daniels' cross-examination was a ‘complete disaster’ for Donald Trump says legal expert

US lawyer George Conway has said that Stormy Daniels' cross-examination was a ‘complete disaster’ for Donald Trump's defense , following the adult movie star's testimony in court this week .

Daniels was on the stand on Wednesday and Thursday in the ongoing hush money trial involving the ex-president, and she talked about everything from Trump's relationship with Melania to the night she spent with him .

Despite difficult questioning that led to Daniels lashing out at one point, Conway believes that her time on the stand was a complete disaster for Trump and his legal team.

Conway is a well-known US lawyer, and he was once considered by former President Donald Trump for the position of Solicitor General of the United States.

Speaking to CNN, he said: "My takeaway was that the continued cross-examination of Stormy Daniels was a complete disaster and fiasco for the defense.

He continued: "It just went on and on, and … they didn’t have anything on her... I think what happened was they had a day off — and Necheles is a very good lawyer by reputation.

"But her client is a narcissistic sociopath … who is obsessed with proving the lie that he didn’t have anything to do with Stormy Daniels."

Despite mounting pressure, Trump maintains his innocence as he is charged with 34 felony charges related to the falsification of business records. He could face up to five years in prison if convicted, with a stint in Rikers even a possibility at this point .
