CHARLESTON, WV (LOOTPRESS)— The West Virginia Department of Economic development and West Virginia Office of Energy (WVOE) have been selected to host a U.S. Department of Energy Clean Energy Innovation Fellow. The program supports critical energy organizations by embedding graduate students or working professionals as subject matter experts to complete pre-identified projects of strategic importance to the host. Applications are open now through May 3.

“This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated energy professional to truly make a difference,” said WVOE Director, Nicholas Preservati. “In this fellowship, you’ll help move West Virginia into a bright and resilient energy future.”

West Virginia’s Fellow will spend up to two years at the West Virginia Office of Energy supporting projects that will bolster the state’s power transmission and distribution capabilities. Candidates should demonstrate their knowledge of, or experience with, grid infrastructure development, and those with backgrounds in community engagement are especially encouraged to apply.
