An interactive murder mystery, “Murder at Gatsby’s Gala," is the first event of its kind to be held at Mariola Italian, a one-night-only show at 6:30 p.m. May 16.

The Gatsbys are known to throw the most elaborate and exquisite parties on West Egg, and this evening will be no different. With society's most notable and notorious set to attend, it is going to be a soiree to die for ... until someone actually does. As the party progresses, the guests will be asked to inspect, interrogate, and investigate in order to uncover the killer. With more motives than a moll's got minks, it will be up to the guests to find the gunsel before the night is through.

The event is being performed by Wayne County Performing Arts Council. Tickets are on sale online at www.wacpac.org for $50 each. Ticket prices include a Mariola Italian buffet and soft drinks in addition to the murder mystery event.

Prizes for dressing up; meet the cast

Prizes will be given for the most distinguished guests who come dressed in their best 1920s inspired attire, as well as among those who correctly sleuth the murderer.

Will it be the millionaire host, Jay Gastby (Jonathan Martens), or his bookie Arnie Rothgreen (Scott Mason)? Perhaps Sid Foreman, the boxer (Tim Breiner) will take the fall? Certainly Billie Love, grand dame of Hollywood (Guinevere Steensen) and her agent Freddie (Lydia Tirakis) couldn’t be involved, could they? Maybe the disgruntled polo player (Kendra Taylor-Alleman) or the ambitious singer (Tara Martens) was responsible

Jay’s associates Greta (Jenny Karger Smith) and Charlie (Katrina Keating) know Gatsby’s business like the back of their hands, so what if they’re involved in a cover up? No one really knows much about Chappy (Pamela Morris), the aristocrat who seems awfully close to Jay. Perhaps Eddie the bootlegger (Diane Gorsuch) says something she shouldn’t? Hopefully the police chief (Hope Alcantar) and the detective (Chelsea Alleman) are on the up and up, but can you ever really be sure?
