Tuesday : We start the day with more scattered showers and storms as the upper-level wave moves east of Alabama. Some of the rain could be heavy at times. Rain totals will be around 1-2″, so minor flooding is possible. The rain will taper off to just a few stray showers or storms in the afternoon with a partly cloudy sky. It will be a tad cooler with highs in the upper 70s and low 80s.

The heat is back mid-week as a ridge of high pressure at the surface and aloft builds across the Southeast U.S. Wednesday and Thursday will be mostly sunny and very warm. High temperatures will be in the middle to upper 80s. A few spots could make it to 90°.

The ridge moves east on Friday as a cold front and upper-level wave move into the Southeast U.S. These systems will set off scattered showers and storms. There could also be an MCS (line of storms) moving into Alabama from the northwest. It will be warm and more humid with highs in the lower to middle 80s.

Weekend Outlook : The front will stall across Alabama on Saturday and Sunday. This will help set off afternoon spotty showers and storms each day. It will stay warm and humid with high temperatures in the middle 80s.
