Commissioner Snyder, first elected in 2012, brings a strong work ethic to the Itasca County Board. He works hard to bring openness and transparency to the board. His issues of importance are to work enhancing diversified economic growth, and common sense spending that is balanced against delivering efficient services to county residents. Supporting Veterans and issues that surround them, supporting the county owned, Grand Village Nursing Home.

Snyder views serving the public as a full-time job. He serves on many working boards in addition to the county board, including Chair of the Grand Village Nursing Home board and Chair of the Itasca County Trails Task Force. He also regularly meets with townships, cities, and citizen groups within District 2 to stay connected with their issues.

“As your commissioner,” stated Snyder, “I will listen to the voices of the citizens and approach issues with an open mind. I represent every citizen equally, fairly, and with professionalism.”

Snyder, born in Bigfork, has been a lifelong resident of District 2 in Itasca County. Before serving as county commissioner, Snyder retired from a 30-year law enforcement career. He enjoys hunting, fishing, and camping with family and friends.
