Yesterday we got a break from wet weather, but our soggy saga has yet to close. More thunderstorms are expected to sweep through overnight Saturday and linger into Sunday morning.

Earlier, thunderstorms along a bowing line segment dumped heavy rainfall and with dropping a confirmed tornado in Henry County. These massive amounts of rain have created additional flooding concerns.

The next wave of thunderstorms is arriving overnight through Sunday morning. Storms from Oklahoma and Kansas will spill across the state line returning widespread rain and a tornado threat.

A tornado watch has been issued for nearly everyone in the Ozarks and will remain in effect until 7 am Sunday. We’ll pause briefly in soggy weather midday Sunday until the final wave of thunderstorm activity arrives later in the afternoon.

We’ll be facing more heavy rain capable of producing 1-2″ additional inches of precip mostly east of Highway 65.

Wet weather finally ends on Monday and we begin this drying-out process. High temperatures will fall in the mid-70s with a good mix of sun and clouds. A nicer day on Tuesday as more sunshine will allow temperatures to increase into the 80s. Rain opportunities can be returning as early as overnight Wednesday.
