The Prince of Darkness Ozzy Osbourne recently got a new nickname from his fellow Rock & Roll Hall of Fame’s Class of 2024— Peter Frampton, who called him “the Betty White of Rock ‘n’ Roll.” He also expressed his excitement at the possibility of performing “Crazy Train” at the Rock Hall induction ceremony in October. “That would be fantastic. Let’s see what happens,” he said.

Peter finally got inducted into the Hall Of Fame after decades of being overlooked and he was “absolutely blown away.” “My mind has been sort of a blur ever since I found out, especially since the announcement last night. My phone hasn’t stopped blowing up since,” he said.

Ozzy was initially eligible for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame as a solo artist in 2006 and got inducted via his band, Black Sabbath in the same year. However, he was not inducted on his own until recently. “It’s an honor that I’m nominated, but I’m not expecting to get in. There’s Mariah Carey, there’s Cher, Lenny Kravitz. I’m up against some serious people. If I get in, I get in. If I don’t, I don’t,” he told Rolling Stone.

The 75-year-old has joined the leagues of multiple-time inductees like Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page, and the Beatles. “Sharon told me a couple of days ago. When I got in, everybody and their neighbors were like, ‘Congratulations, mate.’ I went, ‘Wow.’ And then it was on the evening news. I didn’t realize it was that much of a big deal,” he recalled to the outlet.

Like his first Grammy, Frampton already lost hope about joining legends in the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame, which he suggests should be changed to “the Music Hall of Fame” since artists like Mary J. Blige and A Tribe Called Quest are being inducted. “It’s something I never expected. Because I was eligible so long ago, I kind of put it into the back of my mind,” he said.

He also added that the good news was well deserved “because I keep working,” and “never given up. Look what happened. I got a Grammy. I’ve kept coming back and doing more stuff, and I’ve kept touring. I’ve re-built a following that is now enormous,” he added, noting that he was blown away by the number of people who voted for him.
