Deputies said family members led them to the bedroom, where Propes was located. Deputies made contact with Propes and advised him there was a warrant for his arrest and attempted to take him into custody, authorities wrote in a news release.

Authorities said Propes began fighting with deputies and produced a firearm. During the altercation, Propes pointed the firearm at deputies when they engaged with the suspect, and shots were fired.
