DETROIT ( SILVER STAR NATION ) — The 2024 NFL Draft continued on Friday, April 26, 2024, with the Dallas Cowboys adding more offensive line depth with the first of their two third-round selections.
With the 73rd overall pick in the second round of the 2024 NFL Draft, the Dallas Cowboys selected Cooper Beebe, an offensive lineman from Kansas State.
The only thing shocking about the Dallas Cowboys selecting Cooper Beebe with their first pick in the third round is the fact that he was still available. He was the third-highest-rated guard in the 2024 draft class.
During his four years as a starter at Kansas State, Beebe only missed one game due to injury and played every single game of his final three seasons. During that time, he only allowed two sacks and 28 pressures.
Beebe was a First Team All-Big 12 player in each of his final three seasons. He was named the Big 12 Offensive Lineman of the Year in both his junior and senior seasons, the first player since Creed Humphries to do so in back-to-back seasons.
Beebe’s style of play has been described as “nasty.” He’s an aggressive blocker on the offensive line and he looks to knock defenders off their feet.
Versatility is the name of Beebe’s game. He’s logged snaps at every single position on the offensive line, so he’ll likely be able to play and excel no matter where he ends up playing on the Cowboys line.
Beebe’s an aggressive, intelligent offensive lineman with a high floor and looks to immediately start for the Cowboys.
Looking ahead for the Cowboys in the 2024 NFL Draft
Dallas isn’t done in the third round. They still hold the 87th overall pick, which will be made later on Friday Night.
Day 3 of the 2024 NFL Draft will get underway at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 27, 2024, with the final four rounds all set to take place the same day.
The Cowboys don’t have a pick in Round 4, but they still have four more selections to make on Friday:
