Court records show the couple is due in court for a preliminary hearing on May 7.

The court records say search and arrest warrants at the couple’s home resulted in the discovery of both drugs and drug-making materials.

The arrest warrants say they are both charged with unlawful manufacturing of a controlled substance, in this case, psychedelic mushrooms and alleges investigators found a clandestine lab for the manufacturing on the property.

Additional charges include possession of marijuana for personal use and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The Alabama Department of Corrections told News 19 Crabtree was suspended without pay and the department is conducting an investigation. The department told News 19 Friday there is no update on the investigation at this point.

News 19 reached out to the Crabtree family’s attorney, but we have not yet received a reply.
