Pedestrian dead after crash on Lucks Lane in Chesterfield

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — The Chesterfield County Police Department is investigating a deadly crash that took place at the intersection of Lucks Lane and Spirea Lane.

According to police, at 8:19 a.m. on Friday, April 26, a 2019 Volkswagen sedan was driving west on Lucks Lane when it hit a 2012 Toyota sedan that was turning left on Spirea Lane.

Police said the Volkswagen sedan veered off to the right side of the road and hit a pedestrian on the sidewalk. The pedestrian was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, where they later died.

At this time, the identity of the victim is being withheld until the next of kin is notified.

The section of Lucks Lane in which the crash occurred was closed for much of the day but has since been reopened.
