We made it to Friday! In today's forecast, windy conditions will continue across the Southland. We're looking at a warmer weekend.

This morning we'll see overcast conditions, but by afternoon, the clouds will break away and it will be mostly sunny with highs in the upper 60s. low 70s.

The beaches and inland coast will experience highs in the upper 60s, up to 70 degrees in Long Beach and Irvine. More inland, temperatures will average at 68 degrees.

It will be continue to be cooler in the deserts, with a high of 65 degrees in the high desert, and 80 degrees in Coachella Valley.

About those advisories

The National Weather Service has issued several wind advisories across the southland for today. Winds will affect from the mountains to the coasts, with some areas such as the 5 Freeway corridor and the high desert will see wind gusts up to 60 mph.

This high wind event will last until 3 a.m. Saturday.

And along the coast forecasters are warning beachgoers to be careful in the waters. From Ventura to Orange county beaches high surf will pound the coast with large breaking waves up to 7 feet expected until Saturday morning.
