Baseball rankings: More changes in our top high school teams for Bucks County area

There have been more changes in our rankings of the top Bucks County area high school baseball teams since the second installment two weeks ago.

Here's our latest rankings (through Tuesday, April 23):

1. Neshaminy (9-1)

Neshaminy rolled to a 16-2 victory over North Penn in five innings. Senior Stone Powell had two hits, including a two-run homer, and four RBIs, while junior Danny Nocito and sophomore Chase Bonner had three hits (with a double) and four RBIs apiece. Senior Ryan Fox earned the complete-game win. Neshaminy also outlasted Souderton 4-2 with senior Evan Krippel (five innings) and junior Steven Martin (two) allowing no earned runs. Sophomore Brandon Lall contributed two RBIs and two hits.

2. La Salle (11-1)

The Explorers (7-0 in the Catholic League) toppled Roman Catholic 12-2 with junior Chris Cavalcante tossing five shutout innings. Senior Liam Hawley had two RBIs and sophomore Luke Borgmann chipped in an RBI double. La Salle also defeated Conwell-Egan 5-3 thanks largely to junior Aimon Chandler , who had two doubles and three RBIs, and junior Jack Pye (3⅓ innings of scoreless relief).

3. Central Bucks East (8-3)

The Patriots outlasted Council Rock South 3-1 behind a stellar pitching performance by senior Sam Bliss . Senior Reece Moody paced CB East with a solo home run among his two hits. East also upended Harry S. Truman 11-3 behind a grand slam from senior Jack Mislan and junior Nolan Behm’s five RBIs on three hits, including a double.

4. Pennsbury (8-3)

Junior Dylan Hirsh's two-run single in the fifth inning was the difference in the Falcons' 2-1 victory over Souderton. Senior Charlie Cordisco and junior Evan Hawkes added two hits apiece. Juniors Joe Beitler (2) and Aidan Kenney (1⅓) combined for 3⅓ scoreless innings in relief during Pennsbury's 12-9 win over CB East, which hadn't lost in the SOL. Senior catcher Tyler Boraski had three hits and two RBIs, while senior Jordan Czerniak (double, home run) and Hirsh each added two hits and two RBIs.

5. Conwell-Egan (8-2)

The Eagles' four-run first inning gave them a 4-1 win against Archbishop Carroll. Seniors Brayden Janzer and Scott Ray had two-run hits and freshman Brady Guzzie allowed just one hit and struck out 12 in six innings. Senior Kyle Tuthill gave up just one unearned run in five innings during a 9-1 victory over Cardinal O'Hara. Sophomore Keegan Johnson contributed two RBIs, with senior Zach Linn and sophomore Joey Ortiz chipping in two hits apiece.

6. Faith Christian (9-0)

The Lions continue to roll in the Bicentennial Athletic League. They had scored at least 12 runs in every game this season until beating Plumstead Christian 3-0. Junior Reid Miller struck out 14 in 6⅓ innings vs. Plumstead, with senior Grayson Weikel hitting his sixth home run of the spring and continuing to bat over .700. Sophomore Brandon Labs had a home run in a 12-4 victory over Dock Mennonite and Miller fanned 11 in four innings during a 15-0 win against Jenkintown.

7. Bristol (7-0)

Senior Chance Wideman went 4 for 5 with four RBIs in the Warriors' 17-1 BAL victory over Renaissance Academy. Sophomore Cole Guy threw five shutout innings with 12 strikeouts in an 8-6 win against MaST Charter. Freshman Eddy Diaz had three hits and Wideman added three hits and three RBIs vs. MaST.

8. Quakertown (8-4)

The Panthers downed William Tennent 10-2 behind two hits and three RBIs apiece from seniors Matt Marsten and Cooper Natisin . Senior Danny Qualteria had two hits, including a double, plus three runs, two RBIs and three stolen bases. Quakertown also handled Upper Moreland 10-0 in five innings as Marsten tossed a two-hit complete game and senior Tanner Clancy went 3 for 3 with two RBIs.

9. Pennridge (6-3)

The Rams gave Neshaminy its first loss 5-3 behind a complete-game outing from freshman Connor Murray . Senior Matt Atchley's two-run double keyed Pennridge's five-run sixth inning, which also included an RBI single by sophomore Noah Keating and senior Zach Swanson's sacrifice fly. The Rams also held off Quakertown 6-5 as Murray had two doubles among his three hits.

10. (tie) Council Rock North (7-5)

CR North downed North Penn 5-2 as Nick DiGiacomo hit a two-run double and senior Leor Kedar contributed three hits (with a double) and scored two runs. Senior Johnny Mulder’s two-RBI single keyed a six-run seventh inning in a 9-4 win over Central Bucks West. Seniors Jack Ploppert and DiGiacomo each had a pair of RBIs.

10. (tie) North Penn (6-5)

The Knights rallied from a five-run deficit to outlast Central Bucks South 9-7. Junior Kevin Brace's bases-clearing double was the big blow for North Penn. Senior Nick Palovich was credited with the victory after allowing no earned runs over the final 4⅔ innings.
