It didn't take long for the first call-up of the season for the three local minor leaguers.

Dugan Darnell, who finished last season in Triple-A, began this season in Double-A.

In three appearances for Hartford, he tossed four shutout innings and gave up two hits and a walk while striking out six and picking up a save.

Darnell was called back to Triple-A Albuquerque where he's already made two appearances, keeping his ERA to 0.00 while allowing four hits, four walks and striking out three.

Darnell, who played third base at Adrian College before getting his shot on the mound in his senior season, has lowered his career ERA to 3.40 with 221 strikeouts, 24 saves and a 16-5 record.

Sam Benschoter

The two-time Lenawee County Pitcher of the Year from Tecumseh got the opening day start for Double-A Chattanooga.

It was a struggle in the first start as he took the loss going 3.1 innings and giving up six runs (two earned), on six hits and two walks while striking out three.

Benschother's next two starts have been better, tossing five innings in both and giving up a combined five runs, on seven hits and five walks while striking out 10.

Mo Hanley

While the numbers aren't great, the fact the former Adrian College lefty and 15th round draft pick by the Angeles is healthy is something to be excited about for Hanley.

Hanley, who's gone through a number surgeries and injuries since his 2021 season with the Bulldogs, has made three appearances for Single-A Inland Empire.

He's thrown 3.1 innings and has given up seven runs (five earned), on 10 hits and a walk while striking out five.
