(FOX40.COM) — After starting the week in the upper 80s, parts of Northern California may be back under some wet weather and a chance of thunderstorms, according to the National Weather Service Sacramento station.

From Tuesday and into Wednesday there is a 15% to 35% of thunderstorms in the foothills and the Sierra.

According to radar maps from NWS, portions of northern and eastern Sacramento County may see some of the wet weather.

Placer, Nevada, El Dorado, Alpine, Amador, Sierra, Butte and Yuba counties are likely to see small hail, lightning, brief heavy rain and gusty wind starting on Tuesday afternoon and lasting into the evening.

Those living in higher elevations can expect to see rain and showers persist through Thursday and maybe even into Friday.

This flip in weather conditions also includes a dip in temperatures as valley highs are expected to be between 70 and 75 degrees through Saturday. In the foothills, temperatures could swing from 58 to 70 degrees for daily highs.
