Lenawee County high school sports for April 22-27

Despite some chilly weather this week, there's warmer temperatures in the horizon as the spring seasons continue.

Here's a look at Lenawee County high school sports for the week of April 22-27:

MONDAY

Girls Soccer

Clinton 9, Hillsdale 0

CLINTON — Clinton rolled against the Hornets in LCAA play behind goals from four different Redwolves.

Aubrey Lauer scored five goals while Cylee Elkins scored twice, Emma Shankland had one with an assist and Eden Frederick scored once. Anna Schaffner had three assists while Allison Bowles and Kaylee Reiser each had one.

Adrian 8, Jackson 0

ADRIAN — The Maples picked up an SEC White mercy win.

Tatum Borton scored three times while Sienna Gauana and Jaleigh Niese each scored twice and Katja Nelson scored once.

Onsted 8, Dundee 0

ONSTED — The Wildcats picked up another LCAA win, this one in a mercy shutout against the Vikings.

Mattie Hallenbeck scored three times while Emma Smith had a goal and an assist and Courtney Butts, Ava Ruttkofsky, Ruthi Brogan and Payton Brandly all scored once.

Blissfield 7, Ida 0

BLISSFIELD — The Royals picked up an LCAA win behind a strong performance from Avery Collins.

Collins scored five goals while Maddie Forche scored the other two and Arianna Drake posted her third shutout of the season.

Lenawee Christian 2, Springport 0

SPRINGPORT — The Cougars picked up a shutout on the road with Sam Shane making five saves in net.

Ava Feick and Ila Stewart scored the goals for LCS, which outshot the Spartans on net, 18-5.

Chelsea 5, Tecumseh 0

TECUMSEH — Tecumseh fell in SEC White play in a shutout against the Bulldogs.

Tecumseh is 3-3-1 on the season and 1-1-1 in SEC White play.

Baseball

Jackson at Tecumseh (DH)

After an 0-6 start, Tecumseh has won five-straight, including a 4-0 SEC White start with a pair of 12-0 and 15-5 wins against Jackson.

Tyler Clement got the win in Game 1, giving up one hit and a walk while striking out seven. Rocco Williams got the Game 2 win, giving up five runs (three earned), on six hits and three walks while striking out four.

Max Bledsoe doubled in Game 1 and then went 4-for-5 with another double, three runs and an RBI in Game 2. Connor Adamski went 4-for-6 with a double, two RBIs and three runs on the day.

Eli Bagby had two hits, three runs and an RBI in Game 1 while Williams and Jeremy Bennett each doubled. Connor Bullinger was 3-for-4 with an RBI in Game 2 while Bryan Covel was 2-for-3 with four runs and an RBI.

Sand Creek at Camden Frontier (DH)

The Aggies keep on winning, beating Camden Frontier in a non-league doubleheader, 11-3 and 12-2, to get to 13-0 on the season.

Andon Sutherland and Jared Snyder got the wins on the mound.

At the plate Carson Preston was 2-for-2 with three runs in Game 1 and two RBIs in Game 2. Jordan Illenden had two hits in Game 1 and six runs on the day and Ivan Wilkinson hit a double in Game 1 and had four RBIs and two runs on the day.

Parker Bowles had two hits with a double in Game 1 before Calen Czerniejewski went 2-for-2 in Game 2, Jacob Kaufman drove in three runs with a double and Reid Hullet hit a double as well.

Blissfield 14, Erie Mason 2, 5 inn.

ERIE — The Royals rolled against the Eagles in a single non-league game.

Preston Iffland got the win, giving up two runs, on four hits and striking out seven while Iffland, Jon Cheney, Dove Eitzen, Kipp Fisher and Tyler Ganun all had hits.

Addison at Hanover Horton (DH)

The Panthers swept a Cascades Conference doubleheader, beating Hanover Horton 5-3 and 8-4 to give them four-straight wins.

Drew Spink got the win in Game 1, giving up three runs (two earned), on five hits and four strikeouts. He also hit a double as he went 2-for-4 with three RBIs while Josh Ray was 3-for-4 with a double, RBI and two runs and Jacob Wright was 2-for-3 with a run.

The Panthers plated two runs in the top of the seventh to break a 3-3 tie.

Wright went 5.2 innings in Game 2, giving up four runs (one earned), on eight hits and two strikeouts before Spink threw another 1.1 shutout innings with no hits and a strikeout. Addison led 5-4 heading into the seventh and got another rally with three-runs.

Britton Deerfield 15, Pittsford 0, 5 inn.

PITTSFORD — The Patriots rolled against Pittsford as Ryan Good gave up a hit and struck out seven in four innings.

Logan Smith tossed a perfect inning with three strikeouts while Good did damage at the plate as well, going 3-for-4 with four runs while Keegan Bush was 4-for-4 with three RBIs and three runs.

Lenawee Christian 15, North Adams Jerome 5, 5 inn.

ADRIAN — Tyler Salenbien went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs as he helped lead the Cougars to a non-league mercy win.

Colton Clymer also had two hits with four RBIs and got the win on the mound, going four innings and giving up five runs, on two hits and striking out seven. Gage Hammang had two hits, with two RBIs and two runs while Blake Drogowski hit a triple and drove in a run.

Pinckney at Adrian (DH)

The Maples split an SEC White doubleheader against the Pirates, winning 8-2 before falling 2-1.

Tyler Bruggeman went 4-for-4 with a home run, two RBIs and four runs in Game 1 while Sean Parker got the win, striking out 12.

Tristan Hayes took the tough-luck loss in Game 2, giving up two runs on four hits. Adam Parker had two hits, including one in the bottom of the seventh when Adrian nearly erased a 2-0 deficit.

Softball

Sand Creek at Camden Frontier (DH)

The Aggies won a pair of non-league games, beating Camden Frontier, 19-1 and 19-0.

Claire Pickens and Lily Hawkins got the wins.

Sydney Marks hit two home runs while Maddie Osburn hit one as well and Scout Robinson totaled five hits and drove in two runs and plated five herself.

Tecumseh 15, Jackson 0, 3 inn.

TECUMSEH — Allison Feuerbacher gave up one hit in three shutout innings while striking out eight in an SEC White mercy win.

Wendy Ketola hit a double while Jessie Wilkinson had a hit and scored twice while driving in two runs, Lucy Whelan drove in two runs, as did Julie Jones.

Pinckney at Adrian (DH)

The Maples dropped a pair of SEC White games against the Pirates, 19-1 and 17-1.

Hailey Vetitoe it a double and scored a run in Game 2.

Britton Deerfield at Pittsford (DH)

The Patriots dropped a pair of games on the road, 24-13 and 11-5.

Kurina Dotson hit a home run while Mackenzy Spaulding played strong defense at first.

Addison at Hanover Horton (DH)

The Panthers dropped a pair of Cascades Conference games, 16-0 and 17-0.

Addison was hitless in the two games.

Girls Tennis

Onsted 6, Lansing Christian 2

LANSING — The Wildcats picked up a dual win on the court.

Caitlin Tessier and Bianca Miller won at No. 1 and No. 2 singles while Madi Sniegowski and Emilie LaBrie, Sophie Kurowski and Kaylee Rankin, Lauren Millet and Adeline Kurowski and McKenna Szul & Molly Kordyzon swept doubles play.

Boys Golf

Saline Invite

Tecumseh took ninth and Adrian took 10th with a 357 at Travis Pointe Country Club.

Tecumseh's Grant Simpson shot a 77 to tie for second overall.

Carson Ritz shot a 78 to take sixth overall while Cayden Staib shot an 81 and Xander Finkbeiner and Cooper Howard each shot 99.

Lenawee Christian shot a 383 with Connor Parisien shooting an 84.

Parker Bell shot a 93 while Max Stamats shot a 99 and Carter Miller carded a 107.

Lacrosse

Ann Arbor Huron 3, Tecumseh 2

TECUMSEH — Tecumseh girls dropped the SEC matchup in a tightly contested contest.

Jazzy Reau scored both goals for Tecumseh while Jili Koeppe made seven saves to keep Tecumseh in the game.

TUESDAY

Track and Field

Tecumseh at Adrian

The Maples swept rival Tecumseh with the boys winning 73-59 while the girls won, 82-46.

Adrian's Matthew Canales and Jasmine Griffin won both the 200-meter and the 400-meter with Canales posting times of 23.95 and 52.08 while Griffin ran 30.24 and 1:05.18. Isaiah Fox (16.0) and Haylee Vore (19.02) won the high hurdles.

Moises Salazar won the 800 (2:02.61), 1,600 (4:48.30) and 3,200 (10:30.23) while Anastee Davis won the 800 (2:36.78) and 3,200 (13:02.31) while Ayda Skeels won the 1,600 (5:31.05).

Adrian won the boys (48.56) and girls (57.18) 4x100 and the boys (9:08.73) and girls (10:42.41) 4x800 while also taking the girls 4x200 (1:58.75).

Radon Love won the boys discus (41-feet-8.5-inches) while Fox won the long jump (19-8) while Ella Gotschalk won the shot put (76-11.75) and Cadee Butts won the long jump (12-7).

Tecumseh got wins in the 100 from AJ Bryan (11.54) and Miriam Rick (14.23) and in the intermediate hurdles from Max Danley (43.36) and Claire Cousineau (55.0). Tecumseh won the boys 4x200 (1:38.88) and both the boys (3:40.20) and girls (5:12.20) 4x400.

Bryan McCutchen won the discus (108-8) while Declan Cornish won the high jump (5-8) and Tucker Cole won the pole vault (10-6). Morgan Manwaring won the shot put (29-7.5) and Kaylee Hicks won the pole vault (6-0).

Addison at Homer

Homer defeated the Panthers in both the boys and girls duals, 98-19 and 78-52 respectively,

Molly Brown led the Addison girls as she won the 100 (12.93), 200 (26.87) and high hurdles (15.52) while Stephanie Hernandez won the 1,600 (5:59.62) and 3,200 (13:34.06) and Sayra Hernandez won the 800 (2:38.82). Kendalyn Perry, Jade Shaw and Allison Morris joined Stephanine Hernandez to win the 4x800 (13:30.94). Lucas Morse got the lone boys win in the pole vault (11-0).

Boys Golf

Adrian at Ypsilanti Lincoln Tri

The Maples defeated Lincoln, but lost to Saline at Pine View Golf Club.

Adrian shot a team score of 160 while the Hornets shot 154 and the Railsplitters carded a 168.

Carson Ritz and Cayden Staib each shot 36 while Harrison Boyd shot a 42 and Cooper Howard shot a 46.

WEDNESDAY

Baseball

Britton Deerfield at Sand Creek (DH)

The Aggies won their first two TCC games and improved to 15-0 by beating the Patriots, 6-0 and 4-1.

Reid Hulett got a complete game shutout, allowing three hits and two walks while striking out 10. Andon Sutherland was 2-for-2 with two RBIs and two runs while Cole Scharer and Parker Bowles were both 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs.

Jacob Schamberger went five innings in Game 2 to get the win, giving up a run and walked two while striking out seven. Ivan Wilkinson was 2-for-4 with two doubles and an RBI while Carson Preston had a double and an RBI.

Keegan Bush took the loss in Game 1, giving up two unearned runs and three hits in five innings.

Logan Shiels hit a double and a triple in Game 2 while Bush had two hits with an RBI. Shiels took the loss, giving up two runs (one earned), on three hits and striking out two in 4.1 innings.

Clinton at Blissfield (DH)

Ethan Stines tossed a five innings shutout in Game 1 to help give the Royals an LCAA sweep of the Redwolves.

Blake Wood went 4-for-4 with two doubles, three RBIs and three runs in Game 1 and had a triple in Game 2. Stines went 2-for-5 with a triple, three runs and an RBI.

Jack Deatrick went 2-for-5 with a double and three RBIs while A Wierich went 3-for-4 with two runs. Deatrick went five innings and gave up five runs (four earned) on seven hits and four strikeouts. Jon Cheney got a two-inning save, allowing an unearned run and two hits.

Jalen Stelzer took the loss in Game 1 before Quinn Walden took the loss in Game 2. Nik Shadley went 3-for-4 with two RBIs and a double in Game 2 while Calen Keith had two hits with a double and an RBI while Andy Fair and Cole Breitenwischer went 2-for-4.

Hillsdale at Onsted (DH)

The Wildcats won a pair of LCAA games to remain unbeaten in league play, 9-0 and 10-4.

Xavier Gibbs went 3.2 innings and gave up two hits and struck out five in Game 1. Quinn Hiram and Carsen Wonders each hit a double in the win.

Talan Hutchinson got the win in Game 2, throwing four innings, giving up four runs, on five hits and a walk while striking out four. JT Hill started tossing two no-hit innings, giving up three walks and striking out five.

The Wildcats scattered 10 hits, none for extra bases with Hill stealing four bases.

Tecumseh 17, Jackson 0, 3 inn.

JACKSON — Palmer Ziemer got the win, giving up two hits and no walks while striking out four as Tecumseh improved to 5-0 in SEC White play.

Tyler Clement went 3-for-3 with three RBIs while Rocco Williams went 2-for-3 with three runs and an RBI.

Adrian 10, Pinckney 5

PINCKNEY — The Maples picked up another SEC White series victory as it beat the Pirates on the road.

Julius Robichaud got the win, striking out eight and allowing four runs in six innings.

Gary Kemerer went 3-for-4 with a double, three RBIs and a run while Maverick Slavin went 3-for-4 with an RBI and two runs. Tyler Bruggeman went 2-for-4 with a double.

Erie Mason at Lenawee Christian (DH)

ADRIAN — The Cougars dropped a pair of TCC games to Erie Mason, 14-7 and 9-2.

Nathan Daniels took the loss while Blake Drogowski went 4-for-4 with three runs and Tyler Salenbien went 3-for-4 with three RBIs. Zane Cherfan, Colton Clymer and Zyan Breznik each had two hits.

Brainard took the loss in Game 2 while Drogowski added two more hits with a double and two RBIs.

Hanover Horton 14, Addison 0, 5 inn.

ADDISON — The Panthers dropped Game 3 of their Cascades Conference series, but did win the series on Monday.

Josh Ray had Addison's lone hit while Brodi Keegan took the loss.

Morenci at Whiteford (DH)

OTTAWA LAKE — The Bulldogs dropped a pair of TCC games, 16-0 and 15-0.

Evan Gould hit a double in Game 1 and Jonas Castillo took the loss in Game 2, giving up eight runs (one earned), on five hits.

Softball

Blissfield at Clinton (DH)

The Royals took advantage of three errors in Game 1 to win 9-4 before the Redwolves rebounded in Game 2 for a 12-4 win.

Bella Treloar gave up four runs (three earned), on eight hits and six strikeouts to get the win for Blissfield while Kendall Phillip took the loss.

Mikayla Busdieker hit a double and drove in two runs while Alyssa Barnhardt went 3-for-3 with an RBI for the Royals. Clinton got three hits from Phillip with an RBI while Raven Aldridge went 2-for-4 with a double.

Taryn Hernandez got the win for the Redwolves in Game 2, allowing seven hits while striking out two. Nicole Brewer took the loss for Blissfield.

Kyleigh Ramos went 4-for-5 with an RBI to lead Clinton at the plate while Brenna Broman and Annabell Preston both went 2-for-3 with an RBI and Aldridge added two more hits with two RBIs. Alexis O'Brien hit a two-run double for Blissfield while Treloar hit a double as well.

Hudson at Madison (DH)

The Tigers won a pair of LCAA road games, beating the Trojans, 9-5 and 12-11.

Hudson rallied for four runs in the bottom of the fifth to get the lead in Game 2 and held on for the win. Ryen Rogers hit a double and drove in a run while Teagan Arredondo had a double with three RBIs and got the win.

She also got the win in Game 1 and had two more hits with a double and an RBI. Taylor Kopin hit a solo home run while Sam Anderson hit a double and Brooke Clark tripled with two RBIs.

Camylie Sower took the loss in Game 1 for Madison as she struck out 14 while going 3-for-4 with an RBI. Jazlyn Zaszczurynski had two hits, as did Roni Flores and Caylan Sower with a double while Jamairah Powers hit a home run.

Camylie Sower took the Game 2 loss as well after Micajah Briggs started the game. Camylie Sower added four more hits with a double and an RBI while Kalexiana Wrest had three hits, Briggs had three hits with a home run and four RBIs and Flores and Mya Solis each had two hits.

Britton Deerfield at Sand Creek (DH)

The Aggies rolled to a pair of TCC wins, 20-1 and 20-0.

Makenna Wheeler and Lily Hawkins got the wins. Wheeler was 5-for-5 with a three-run home run while Maddie Osburn was 4-for-4 with a two-run home run. Sydney Marks and Erin Alexander had two hits in Game 1 while Claire Pickens had two in Game 2.

Hillsdale at Onsted (DH)

The Wildcats picked up their first two LCAA wins, beating the Hornets 15-5 and 4-2.

Sydney Keefe had six hits on the day with two home runs, five RBIs and five runs. Hannah Hill had four hits with three home runs, with five RBIs and six runs while Ainsley Brezvai had four hits with a triple, two RBIs and three runs.

Megan Hunt had three hits, five runs, three RBIs and two steals while Sofia Priest had three hits, four runs and two RBIs. Ashlynn Wilson struck out seven in the Game 1 while before Megan Hunt took Game 2.

Dexter 19, Adrian 3, 5 inn.

ADRIAN — The Maples took on a tough Dreadnaughts squad and fell in five innings.

Ciara Ernst drove in two runs.

Morenci at Whiteford

OTTAWA LAKE — The Bulldogs dropped a pair of TCC games to the Bobcats, 15-0 and 14-0.

Morenci was hitless in both, falling to 1-5 on the season and 0-4 in the league.

Track and Field

Clinton, Onsted at Madison

The Madison girls and Onsted boys swept the day while the Onsted girls beat Clinton and the Clinton boys beat Madison.

Jillian Kendrick won the 100 (13.61) and 200 (28.15) for Madison while Emily Murry won the high hurdles (18.92) and Tatum Wilson won the intermediate hurdles (51.77). Mariana Carbajal-Fuentes won the shot put (28-11), Madelyn Bailey won the pole vault (7-0) and Nevaeh Parish won the long jump (15-5).

Kendrick and Parish were joined by Madaline Goldmeyer and Christiana Allen to win the 4x100 (53.07) while Allen, Goldmeyer and Wilson were joined by Morgan Bennice-Carol Byles to win the 4x200 (1:56.00) and Kendrick, Wilson and Goldmeyer were joined by Alisia Loredo to win the 4x400 (4:28.13).

Emmry Ross won the 400 (56.72) and 3,200 (10:55.93) and Raegan Brosmar won the 1,600 (6:10.85) for Onsted while Allison Bowles won the 800 (2:31.87) for Clinton while Kaylie Livingston won the discus (98-2) and Summer Chandler won the high jump (4-10).

Ross and Brosmar were joined by Alison England and Jordyn Taylor to won the 4x800 (10:38.01).

Mitchell Hiatt won the 800 (2:10.99), 1,600 (4:52.91) and 3,200 (10:30.38) while Aidan Paquin won the 100 (11.73) and intermediate hurdles (44.72) while Griffin Amthor won the 200 (23.74) and Logan Irwin won the 400 (54.23) for Onsted. Mason Chesser won the high jump (6-0) and Cannon Ruttkofsky won the long jump (19-6).

Ruttkofsky, Amthor and Paquin were joined by Joey Denkins to win the 4x100 (45.37) while Paquin, Ruttkofsky and Amthor were joined by Connor Kish to win the 4x200 (1:34.23) and Ruttkofsky, Amthor, Irwin and Hunter VanZandt won the 4x800 (3:40.98).

Madison's Jalonn Borders won the high hurdles (17:02) and pole vault (11-0) while Mason Brodie won the shot put (50-3) and discus (145-2).

Lenawee Christian at Morenci

The Cougars swept the Bulldogs as the LCS boys won 70-57 and the girls won 72-54.

Brenner Powers won the 100 (11.4) and 200 (23.5) while Gigi Masters won as well at 13.3 and 27.8. Joel Lange won the 800 (2:17.5), 1,600 (4:58.9) and 3,200 (16:02.9) while Ila Stewart won the girls 400 (1:20.2), Izzy Brooks won the 800 (2:33.1) and 1,600 (5:52.3) and Faith Verlinde won the 3,200 (16:05.8).

Elizabeth Cameron joined Masters, Stewart and Shane to win the 4x100 (56.0) while Masters, Stewart, Brooks and Emerson Holsopple won the 4x200 (1:59). Maverick Boggs, Brooklyn Mangrum, Kendall Plate and Verlinde won the 4x800 (13:55).

Easton Boggs won the shot put (37-2), discus (139-3) and long jump (4-8) while Aiden McEldowney won the pole vault (9-0) and Powers won the long jump (18-9.75). Holsopple won the high jump (4-3) and Shane won the long jump (12-10).

Powers, Blake Drogowski, Paul Towler and Sam Lutz won the 4x100 (51.4) while Boggs, Towler, McEldowney and Judah Penny won the 4x200 (1:53.1).

Morenci swept the hurdles with Kevin Kaufman winning the high (18.6) and intermediate (44.6) while Leah Rorick won for the girls at 18.4 and 52.5. Michael Rising won the 400 (55.9) and was joined by Landon Wilkins, Will Riley and Beau Shaffer won the 4x400 (4:13.5). Shaffer and Wilkins joined Zachary Martinez and Van Elkins to win the 4x800 (9:48.9).

Zoey Martinez won the shot put (28-8) and discus (91-5) while Rebecca Cox won the pole vault (6-0).

Rorick, Colbie Elkins, Kiana Castillo and Emma Williams won the 4x400 (4:40.4).

Dundee at Blissfield

The Blissfield girls beat Dundee, 77-59, while the boys fell 90-46.

Hailey Sills won the 800 (2:46.40), 1,600 (5:50.32) and 3,200 (12:24.08) while Peyton Tennant won the intermediate hurdles (1:01.36), shot put (31-5) and high jump (4-8) and Layla Smith won the 100 (13.52), 200 (28.99) and long jump (15-8.5). Makayla Wolfe won the discus (69-6).

Smith was joined by Reanne Smith, Michaiah Franklin and Madeline Forche won the 4x100 (56.35) and Tennant, Forche, Reanne Smith and Reilan Sayler won the 4x200 (2:00.49).

Jackson Vandenbusche won the 800 (2:09.11) while Ian Waddell won the 3,200 (10:55.23) and Braedyn Tennant won the intermediate hurdles (48.26). Conner Deaton, Brandon Jacobs, Caleb Vore and Iain Gilmore won the 4x100 (49.44) while Vandenbusche, Ashton Bartelt, William Marks and Evan Vore won the 4x400 (3:51.60) and Evan Vore, Waddel, Marks and Vandenbusche won the 4x800 (9:59.94).

Hudson, Ida at Hillsdlae

The Tigers teams went 1-1 with the boys and girls both beating Hillsdale, but falling to Ida.

Annabelle Czeiszperger won the girls 3,200 (14:03.77) and pole vault (9-0) while McKenzie Daugherty won the discus (101-0), Emmalin Rodifer won the high jump (4-6) and Lindsey Gipperich won the long jump (14-2.25). Isaac St. John won the boys 800 (2:11.78) and Alex Czeiszperger won the 3,200 (10:50.03).

Girls Soccer

Adrian 8, Ypsilanti 0

YPSILANTI — The Maples posted an SEC White mercy win against the Grizzlies.

Tatum Borton had three goals and three assists while Jaleigh Niese netted a hat trick as well and Katja Nelson and Sienna Gauna each scored once.

Lily Hassan got the shutout in net.

Pinckney 8, Tecumseh 0

TECUMSEH — Tecumseh fell in a shutout in SEC White play.

Tecumseh is 3-4-1 on the season and 1-2-1 in league play.

Girls Tennis

Adrian 5, Tecumseh 3

ADRIAN — The Maples took three of the four singles matches to help lead them to the SEC rivalry win.

Aniyah Yoder, Izzy Morris and Maya Awad all got wins for Adrian while Caroline Hofflander and Grace Smart and Emma Pino and Kirsten Hess won in doubles play.

Piper Holtz got a Tecumseh a singles win while Rachel Wendt and Mary Schmidt and Violette Roehrig and Madeline McFarland won in doubles play.

Lacrosse

Dexter 10, Tecumseh 7

TECUMSEH — Tecumseh took its first SEC White loss as it fell to the Dreadnaughts, snapping a five-game winning streak.

Tecumseh is 7-3 on the season and is 6-1 in league play.

Ann Arbor Skyline 15, Tecumseh 0

TECUMSEH — Tecumseh took on a tough Skyline team and lost in a shutout.
