Standing Rock Elementary to host unveiling ceremony for new bikes

FORT YATES, ND ( KXNET ) — Standing Rock Elementary School will be hosting an unveiling ceremony on April 25 to celebrate the arrival of 24 new bicycles provided by the All Kids Bike Program.

All Kids Bike has received an $18,000 grant to provide a curriculum and equipment in PE class for kindergarten students at Standing Rock Elementary School for the 2023-2024 school year.

This funding was provided by Coca-Cola Bottling Company High Country and the American Beverage Foundation for a Healthy America through the Healthy American Grant Program.

The funding will be used for All Kids Bike to provide their Learn-To-Ride curriculum, teacher training, Strider Balance Bikes, pedal-conversion kits, helmets, a teacher instruction bike, and rolling storage racks for elementary schools.

The ceremony will be held on Thursday, April 25 at 8:30 a.m., in which Standing Rock Elementary School leadership along with representatives from Coca-Cola Bottling Company High Country will deliver a brief presentation, a fleet of 24 balance-to-pedal conversion bikes will be unveiled and provide a first-ride opportunity for the excited kindergarteners.
