Patuxent art exhibit opens

Patuxent High School will host an art exhibit showcasing teen artists in Southern Maryland through June, at the Calvert Library’s Southern branch.

‘High School Musical’ continues this weekend

Children’s Theatre of Southern Maryland will perform “High School Musical” 7 p.m. Friday, April 26; and 1 and 6 p.m. Saturday, April 27, at Chesapeake Church, 6201 Solomons Island Road in Huntingtown. Tickets are $20. Go to the website ctsmd.org.

Doll show scheduled

The Black-Eyed Susan Doll Club will host the Best Little Doll Show in Southern Maryland 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 27, at the Historic Waldorf School, 3074 Crain Highway in Waldorf. Wine, cheese social set

Grace Lutheran will host a Wine & Cheese Social 3 to 7 p.m. Saturday, April 27, at 11770 Charles St. in La Plata. Music ensembles, silent auction and catered food. ‘Running of the Balls’ returns

The 11th annual Running of the Balls will be held 2 p.m. during the Spring Fling Car Show Sunday, April 28, in Leonardtown. The event is sponsored by the Leonardtown Rotary Club and will be held during the St. Mary’s Rod and Classic Car Club Spring Fling Car Show. Balls cost $5 or five balls for $20 and will continue on sale until almost race time. For more information, go to leonardtownrotary.org.

Farm art exhibit closing

Artworks@7th is hosting its latest exhibit Down on the Farm through Sunday, April 28, at 8905 Chesapeake Ave. in North Beach. The exhibit explores the American tradition of farming through acrylic, watercolor, mixed media, photography and ceramic. The gallery is open 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday through Sunday. Bluegrass series continues

May Day event scheduled

Day at the Derby returns

The Arc Southern Maryland will host A Day at the Derby Southern Maryland style 5 p.m. Sunday, May 4, at Perigeaux Vineyards and Winery, 8650 Mackall Road in St. Leonard. Arts festival returns

Contra dance set
