Strong storms possible overnight

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A Severe T’Storm Watch is in effect for Henry, Carroll, and Benton Counties in TN until 2am Friday morning.

However, the Storm Prediction Center has put our entire area under some sort of risk for severe storms through early Friday. There is an Enhanced Risk (3/5) for the northwest areas, including parts of Benton, Carroll, Henry, Houston, Montgomery counties in TN and Christian, Muhlenberg, & Trigg counties in KY. A Slight Risk (2/5) is in effect from the Southern Kentucky counties near I-65 (Allen, Barren, Logan, Simpson, Todd, & Warren) southward into central Middle Tennessee (including Nashville, Franklin, Murfreesboro, Lebanon, Lobelville, Hohenwald, Waynesboro, Pulaski, Lewisburg). East toward the Cumberland Plateau and southeast Middle Tennessee, a Marginal Risk (level 1/5) in effect.

Damaging winds will be the biggest threat: gusts could be 60-70 mph. All modes of severe weather are possible, including heavy rain, hail, and even a few tornadoes (especially in the northwest areas).

Storms continue this evening and through the overnight hours. Since this is a nighttime threat, you need to make sure you have a way to get the warnings.
