Runoff election night results across central Alabama

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ( WIAT ) — A runoff election saw seven central Alabama counties tallying votes Tuesday night.

Residents of Calhoun, Clay, Coosa, Jefferson, St. Clair, Walker and Winston Counties cast their votes for multiple local races. The Alabama Secretary of State’s website is providing CBS 42 with the latest election results, which are listed below:

Calhoun County

In the Calhoun County Judge of Probate race, Shirley Millwood won the Republican seat with 1,763 (50.75%) votes over Jon Garlick’s 1,711 (49.25%) votes. A total of 3,474 residents cast their ballots.

Clay County

In the race for Clay County Commission Member representing District No.5, Terry Heflin Sr. won with 141 (59%) votes over Beverly Appleby Hill, who garnered 98 (41%) votes in a total of 239 votes.

Coosa County

In the race for Coosa County Circuit Clerk, Jamey Johnson won the seat with 546 votes (51.56%) over Matthew Reams, who gained 513 votes (48.44%). The election total was 1,059 votes.

Jefferson County

In the race for Jefferson County’s assistant tax collector of the Bessemer division, Ron Marshall won the race with 2,459 votes (61.58%) over Ves Marable’s 1,534 (38.42%). The election total was 3,993.

In the race for Constable representing District No. 52, Richmond F. Williams won the race with 678 votes (50.75%) over Valencia C. Moore’s 658 votes (49.25%). The election total was 1,336.

In the race for Constable representing District No. 60, Wanda Faye Bryant won the race with 930 votes (60.55%) over Leo Taylor Jr.’s 606 votes (39.45%). The election total was 1,536.

In the race for Jefferson County District Court Judge No. 3 (Birmingham Division), Jacquelyn Grant-Jones won the race with 4,198 votes (56.92%) over Pamela Wilson Cousins’ 3,177 (43.08%). The election total was 7,375.

In the race for Probate Judge Place No. 1, Yashiba Blanchard won the Democratic nomination race with 7,173 votes (61.67%) over Yawanna Nabors McDonald’s 4,459 (38.33%). The election total was 11,632. Blanchard will face Republican candidate John Amari in November.

St. Clair County

In the race for St. Clair County Commission Member representing District No. 3, Joey Stevens won the Republican seat with 2,233 votes (65.03%) over Tommy F. Bowers — who gained 1,201 votes (34.97%). The election total was 3,434.

Walker County

In the race for Walker County Commission Chairman, Steve Miller took the seat with 3,513 votes (75.42%) over Charles Bishop’s 1,145 votes (24.58%). The election total was 4,658.

Winston County

In the race for Winston County Commission Chairman, David Cummings won the seat with 2,079 votes (61.29%) over Bobby Everett — who earned 1,313 votes (38.71%). The election total was 3,392.

In the race for Board of Education member representing District No. 4, Randy Lee gained the seat with 534 votes (59.53%) over Ted Alexander’s 363 (40.47%). The election’s total was 897.
