  • How many days above 90 degrees? 35
  • How many 100+ degree days? 0
  • Will it be a dry or wet summer? The summer will begin dry, then end with above-normal rainfall.

The summer of 2023 was strange in that we didn’t hit 90 until July 1. I think it’s back to normal for the summer of 2024. We will probably see our first 90-degree day on May 18.

Scattered summertime thunderstorms and the high elevation of the Piedmont normally prevent us from hitting 100 degrees.

It’s April and the Atlantic Basin is plenty warm. I think this will set the stage for an active hurricane season, especially August through October.
