1 person taken to hospital in US 35 crash in Putnam County

UPDATE: (6 p.m. Friday, April 12) – Putnam County dispatchers confirmed at least one person was taken to the hospital after a crash on US 35 Friday afternoon near Hurricane Creek Road. There is no word on the extent of that person’s injuries.

According to dispatchers, all lanes of US 35 have now reopened.


PUTNAM COUNTY, WV (WOWK) – A multi-vehicle crash has shut down a portion of US 35 in Putnam County.

According to Putnam County 911 dispatchers, the crash happened around 3:30 p.m. near Hurricane Creek Road. Dispatchers say three vehicles were involved.

Breaking News

The southbound lanes of US 35 are currently shut down due to the crash, according to dispatchers.

Putnam County Sheriff Bobby Eggleton says injuries have been confirmed, but there is no word yet on the extent or how many people were hurt.

The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office, Winfield Volunteer Fire Department, Teays Valley Volunteer Fire Department, Putnam County Emergency Management, Putnam County EMS, and Kanawha County EMS are responding.
