Donald Trump Is 'Disappointed' Ivanka Won't Be Active In His Presidency

When Donald Trump announced that he would be running for president again in 2022, Ivanka also released a statement. "I love my father very much," she said. "This time around, I am choosing to prioritize my young children and the private life we are creating as a family. I do not plan to be involved in politics. While I will always love and support my father, going forward I will do so outside the political arena ."

And while Ivanka has been living it up in Miami, Donald Trump is reportedly "devastated and saddened," according to NYC publicist R. Couri Hay. She continued, saying, "She was a secret weapon for the president." Ivanka was Trump's right-hand woman during his term as president, a role that leaves behind big shoes to fill.

Ivanka Trump & Donald Trump Reportedly Have A Strained Relationship

Not many blame Ivanka for not wanting to get involved in the Trump family business again, especially after the fraud case that just closed in NY that left Donald Trump two of his sons, Eric and Don. Jr, owing millions. “I think she’s the smart one in all this,” explained Meghan Milloy, co-founder of Republican Women for Progress. “She’s seen what happened to her dad and her brothers. She probably has the best head on her shoulders. She has a family; she doesn’t want to get caught up in all this.”

Plus, she's done her time. “I think she felt like she did her tour of duty and doesn’t want to go through it again," Hay said. But it seems that Donald Trump may be having a hard time accepting this decision from his only daughter. Will they remain as close as they have been in the past? It doesn't look like it. Only time can tell what Trump's potential second term will do to his family relationships.
