Dogs are known for the unconditional love that they give their owners, and while it's a bummer that love usually means they're sad when we leave for the day, it also means we get to soak up their excitement when we get home. There's really something special about having a creature in your life who is always over the moon, ecstatic to see you whether you've been gone for five days or five minutes. Getting home at the end of a long day is always a relief, but it's even better when a happy face and wagging tail are waiting on the other side of the door for you.

On Monday, March 25, @abc7la shared a video of a Miniature Poodle in New York who was so excited to see her dad when he came to pick her up from daycare that she practically flew through the air (and ran into a glass door in the process, thinking that nothing was there).
Her tail was going crazy, and as soon as soon as someone opened the door for her and she was able to get to her dad, she made a beeline.
She was jumping and panting and losing her mind — it's like she hadn't seen this guy in years . She was so glad they were reunited!
Of course, commenters can't get enough of this adorable footage. One person wrote, "I want to feel a fraction of the joy this dog feels being picked up everyday at least once in my life." Honestly, same!
Do Dogs Miss Us While We're Gone?
It's true: dogs actually do miss their humans when they're gone, even if they're just at work and the dog knows you'll be back.
According to Psychology Today , research shows that dogs will greet their humans with this level of intensity and excitement after they've been gone just two hours. They also associate us with happy memories, like socializing with us , bonding, and of course, us being the bringers of the food. That means they'll still think about us when we're gone, and it's part of why they're so happy to see us when we get back.
Dogs also seem to remember our scent, so when they can smell that we're home, they start going crazy. Aww!
