Three Pennsylvania golf courses selected as qualifying sites for U.S. Open

PENNSYLVANIA (WHTM) – The United States Golf Association (USGA) announced local qualifying sites on Monday for the 124th U.S. Open Championships with three Pennsylvania golf courses being selected as hosts.

Local qualifying will consist of 18 holes across 109 sites in the United States and Canada and will take place between April 22 – May 20. Those who advance will be grouped with locally exempt players and compete in the final qualifying, which will be 36 holes.

On May 2 qualifying will take place at the Country Club of York in York, Pennsylvania. The course was designed by architect Donald J. Ross in 1928 and has hosted many Regions, State and National Championships.

Qualifying will also be conducted at Sewickley Heights Golf Club in Sewickley, Pennsylvania on May 2. The course has ranked in the top 3% nationwide by USGA .

York Revolution announce more promotions

On May 6 the event will occur at Union League Liberty Hill in Lafayette Hill, Pennsylvania. The club was voted the No. 1 City Club in the Country in 2012, 2014, 2016, 2018, 2020 and 2022.

The USGA Women’s Open qualifying sites were revealed on Tuesday. The 79th U.S. Women’s Open Championship will be held at Lancaster Country Club from May 30 – June 2. It will be the second time the club has hosted the U.S. Women’s Open.

Qualifying is conducted over 36 holes at 23 sites from April 15 – May 20. As their fifth time as hosts, the Shannopin Country Club in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania will welcome competitors for qualifying on May 7.
