Israeli Army Discovers ‘Massive’ Amount of Chinese-Made Weapons in Gaza: Report

Officials believe that the weapons were not delivered on Chinese ships, but due to the sheer quantity it is assumed they were brought into Gaza through an organized process

Israeli Defense Forces uncovered a 'massive' cache of weapons in Gaza that were manufactured in China, according to a new report.

A report from Israel's N12 on Saturday claimed that officials have been shown examples of the weaponry that was seized from Hamas fighters, according to the Times of Israel , which also points out that the report is unsourced.

It's not immediately clear how many weapons were seized, but it is not believed that the weapons were delivered on Chinese ships, due to the sheer quantity of weapons involved, it's likely that they were brought into Gaza through an organized process and not smuggling.

"China has an extensive arms industry. By definition, it does not sell weapons to non-state entities, it certainly does sell weapons to countries in the [Middle East]," Carice Witte, CEO and founder of SIGNAL Group and an expert on China-Israel relations, said to The Jerusalem Post .

Witte added that it's likely other countries or independent Chinese-based groups are selling the weaponry to terror groups like Hamas.

"Trade relations between China and Middle Eastern nations are well known, even with those sanctioned by the West," she said. "It is not impossible that such weaponry ends up in the wrong hands."
