Multiple Volunteer Fire Departments fighting inferno on Macedonia

LOYD STAR — Fire fighters are actively suppressing a house fire on Macedonia Road. They are about an hour and a half into battling the blaze

The fire is at a home on 968 Macedonia Road. No one is believed to be in the home at the time of the fire.

10 trucks are on scene including three tankers. Heucks Retreat, Loyd Star, New Site, Bogue Chitto, Hog Chain and Zetus VFD are fighting against the inferno.

The fire has spread through the structure.

One fireman on scene said “We need more volunteers.”

Volunteer Fire Departments have run all over the county fighting fires over  the past week

Lincoln County EMA Director Chris Reid said people can volunteer by contacting their local fire department of the Lincoln County EMA office.

REX Lumber donated bottles of water to the firemen on scene as they rotate from active duty to breaks.
