Millions of page visits and dozens of advertisers later, Butch Kowal's remains dear to us as a beloved local landmark and business, and the members of the Kowal family are some of the best people we know.

"Where Good Friends Meet": TAPinto Rahway Announces Newest Advertiser, Butch Kowal's Tavern
RAHWAY, NJ (July 31, 2021) — TAPinto Rahway is very excited to announce its newest advertiser, beginning in August: Butch Kowal's Tavern, located at 950 St. Georges Ave.
Butch Kowal's Tavern really doesn't need an introduction, as they say, especially to those of us familar with the Rahway community. It's a great local hangout, a staple in town for meeting up with friends, catching up with those you haven't seen in a while, and the place you come to catch a game, grab a drink, or listen to some live music. It is, as its slogan says, "Where Good Friends Meet."
Still, we have a more extensive story coming soon that will provide some of the history of Butch Kowal's Tavern and, of course, the story of the man himself, founder John "Butch" Kowal, the father of tavern owner Peter and grandfather of Peter's sons, Pete Jr. and Matthew. For years now, Butch Kowal's has done a ton of charity work in the community, most recently with its John "Butch" Kowal Foundation Scholarship, which went to nine graduating seniors just this past year.
TAPinto Rahway just met up with the Kowals, father and son Peter and Matt, this past Thursday. Both are especially excited about the events and happenings still upcoming at Butch Kowal's over the remainder of the summer and the rest of 2021. In particular, they gave us a tour of their new outdoor area, complete with picnic-style tables and umbrellas, a cornhole tournament area, a flat screen to catch all the games, and a new drink menu the size of a billboard for all of you undecided types with poor vision. It's a fantastic outdoor space that was in the works even prior to the pandemic and is now a reality. Check it out as soon as you can.
TAPinto Rahway is extremely appreciative of the support from Butch Kowal's Tavern and looks forward to sharing with its readers all the good things going on over at 950 St. Georges Avenue as well as everything Butch Kowal's continues to do for the community and its residents.
