Larry was 45 years old when he appeared on the series and had gained 400 pounds "five years after his first bariatric surgical procedure," which led him to seek help from Dr. Younan Nowzaradan.

It continues: "He'd struggled with binge-eating habits, which made him gain a great deal of weight.

"His TLC debut is quite unforgettable because of the traumatic life events that he sadly went through.

"Although Larry was unable to lose enough weight to be approved for surgery by My 600-lb Life's Dr. Nowzaradan, he was given another chance to slim down, and meet his goal."

Following his appearance on the program, Larry often documented his weight loss journey via his social media pages.

Prior to his death, he told his followers he had plans to release his book The Weight of Grief: One Man's Journey to Overcome Addiction & Find Hope.
