New Orleans Police are investigating a homicide in the Seventh Ward neighborhood.
Shortly before 9 p.m., NOPD officers were sent to the 2400 block of Allen St. to investigate a shooting.
The police found a female victim with at least one gunshot wound to her body. She died a short time later.
WWL-TV reports this is the third woman shot and killed in New Orleans this week. A 24-year-old woman was shot and killed in the 1200 block of Casa Calvo St. in Algiers on Memorial Day. A 34-year-old woman was killed in the 3800 block of General Taylor St. in Uptown Thursday night. In that case, police arrested the woman's boyfriend.
